Grand Rosé - Cocktails And Dessert Anyone?
Treat Your Taste Buds To A Sweet Sensation
To coincide with the beginning of the Great British Bake Off (or GBBO as it seems to be referred to frequently in social media circles) on TV, we thought it would be fitting if we encouraged our customers to get into the baking mood, too. However, we won’t just stop at the baking. The team at Premier Estates Wine have been looking at the truly terrific combination of desserts and fine sparkling wine cocktails, and what better accompaniment could there possibly be to a sweet dessert than a sparkling Grand Rosé based cocktail?
Now, we realise that baking has been mentioned, but actually we’re going to cheat just a tad to make things easier for you, so that you can get to the relaxation part of the experience a little more quickly. In keeping with the first round of the GBBO, we found a quick and delicious biscuit based dessert which would work perfectly with a Grand Rosé and gin cocktail. So, without further ado, here are the recipes and methods:
Chocolate and Biscoff Strawberries
It really is a very simple but delicious recipe and all you need are some fresh, ripe strawberries, a bar of your favourite chocolate and some crushed biscoff biscuits (or just use your favourite biscuits, crushed). Wash your strawberries and gently melt your chocolate, then dip your strawberries into the chocolate and roll them in the crushed biscuits. How easy was that?
Of course, you could make the biscuits yourself if you're a keen baker, but we thought you might like to get onto the cocktail a little faster!
Grand Rosé, Strawberry and Gin Cocktail
- A shot of Gin (you could use strawberry gin here, but regular gin is fine)
- A teaspoon of strawberry puree
- A squeeze of lemon juice
- A teaspoon of simple syrup (sugar and water)
- Grand Rosé Sparkling Wine
- 2 cucumber slices
- A little crushed ice
For the syrup, mix an equal amount of hot water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Pop the cucumber into a cocktail shaker and add the crushed ice and remaining ingredients except the wine. Give it all a shake and then strain into a glass. Top up with Grand Rosé sparkling wine.
Now, relax and enjoy whilst watching the next stage of the GBBO!
